Review: Bountech Inflatable Bounce House (Castle 6-in-1 with Long Slide)

By |2021-09-09T23:26:05-07:00Jan 26, 2021 - Tuesday|Product Reviews, Reviews|

Read: 8 mins. When we purchased the Bountech Sweet House three months ago, our children loved playing with it in our backyard. However, despite the great opportunities it afforded for parents to interact with the kids, the play pit area underneath the curved slide had the tendency for the little ones to hurt themselves when they fell onto the unpadded ground. We looked into the Bountech Castle 6-in-1 with Long Slide to see how it would compare with the Sweet House. What our son told us was surprising.

Review: Costzon Convertible Bunk Bed (Twin-over-Twin, White, Wooden)

By |2021-10-28T17:31:31-07:00Jan 25, 2021 - Monday|Product Reviews, Reviews|

Read: 3 mins. A bunk bed was one of the joys my brothers, cousins, and I had enjoyed for the first decade of my life -- memories that are still with me today. I wanted to provide my children with the same feelings while also opening up a small, 10' x 12' bedroom for them to enjoy. Out went the Ikea, full-sized bed, and in came a white, convertible, twin-sized bunk bed that left our son overjoyed with happiness and a feeling of relaxation for us, the parents.

Taskbar Icon/Button Width Too Wide in Windows 10

By |2021-09-09T23:10:03-07:00Jan 20, 2021 - Wednesday|Technology|

Read: 2 mins. I recently ran into an odd, visual behavior with the Windows 10 Taskbar where each application label was too wide and wasted valuable screen estate. Rather than showing just the first handful of characters of the application name and cutting off the rest, each button took up a wide portion of the taskbar. Here is how to fix or change the Taskbar buttons' minimum width back to default or to a desired length.

Review: Goal Zero Yeti 1500x Portable Power Station

By |2023-10-13T17:21:19-07:00Jan 4, 2021 - Monday|Product Reviews, Reviews|

Read: 24 mins. Goal Zero products are expensive. They are also the industry leader in portable power stations with a safety record to brag about. The Yeti 500x became one of my all-time favorite batteries, and when a wildfire forced us to evacuate our home, it was time for us to look for a higher-capacity one that could power our most important appliances for days or weeks. This is our review of the Goal Zero Yeti 1500x, and how I used it with other brands' solar panels and power stations.

Review: Beelink GT-R Pro Mini PC (vs GT-R vs U57) AMD Ryzen

By |2022-12-09T08:44:48-08:00Dec 8, 2020 - Tuesday|Product Reviews, Reviews|

Read: 21 mins. Beelink took a bold step into releasing its first, AMD-based mini computer (with official AMD support and collaboration), and held almost nothing back when it set out to build the best PC it had ever made: the GT-R. It was beautiful with its blue exterior and glass top and immediately felt substantial to hold due in large part to its premium, metal components. It easily replaced my previous favorite, the Beelink U57. Fast-forward three months later, and I had given away the GT-R to my brother for an opportunity to purchase and compare the newer GT-R Pro. What are their differences and which one is better?

Review: Gyroor C3 Electric Bicycle (Semi-Foldable)

By |2022-12-01T23:26:02-08:00Dec 5, 2020 - Saturday|Product Reviews, Reviews|

Read: 9 mins. Biking is a form of exercise and adding an electric motor gives me some mixed feelings. On the other hand, assisted pedaling or fully motorized transportation is a great way to explore difficult or far-reaching areas normally inaccessible to the casual bicyclist. Rides with friends used to be a regular weekend activity before having kids where I purposely chose to be on a mountain bike going around 10 mph. This was to slow myself down for the relaxed riders in the group. Recently, however, my wife wanted to get a motorized bike for her mother so she could join us for family rides. We ultimately decided on the semi-foldable Gyroor C3.
